Tillie’s Tomato Surprise (1915)

Tillie Todd gives her wealthy Aunt Sally a cheap tomato pincushion, pretending it's handmade. Her cousin Percy reveals the deception, trying to win Sally’s affection. At Sally's birthday party, Tillie’s boyfriend, "The Bat," crashes his flying machine, inspiring Sally to fly herself. Presumed dead after disappearing, she leaves Tillie the pincushion but most of her fortune to her pet monkey, Jim, with Percy as the eventual heir. Percy kidnaps Jim to get the inheritance, framing Tillie for the crime. Hunted by the police, Tillie is rescued when Sally reappears. Furious, Tillie destroys the pincushion, only to find it filled with $10,000.
