The Pinnacle (2010)

In the winter of 1960, Jimmy Marshall and Robin Smith achieved a legendary feat on Ben Nevis, making six first winter climbs in a single week, including the challenging Orion Face Direct. They also completed the first one-day winter ascent of Point Five Gully, enjoyed a leisurely walk, and even had a run-in with the law over a game of dominoes. Fifty years later, Dave MacLeod and Andy Turner attempt to repeat all of the routes climbed by Smith and Marshall, paying tribute to their accomplishment. This film recounts the original events and follows MacLeod and Turner as they fully appreciate the magnitude of their undertaking.
