Description:
"New Faces" was a Broadway musical revue featuring interconnected songs and comedy sketches, which ran for almost a year in 1952 and was adapted into a 1954 film. The production launched the careers of several emerging performers, including Paul Lynde, Alice Ghostley, Eartha Kitt, Carol Lawrence, Mel Brooks (as Melvin Brooks), and lyricist Sheldon Harnick. The film largely mirrors the stage show, with a simple plot about a struggling producer and performer named Ronny Graham trying to secure funding for his show while avoiding an angry creditor. A wealthy Texan offers assistance, but only if his daughter gets a role in the production.
