Description:
In the 12th century, a boy named Temujin, meaning "blacksmith," is born to a tribal chief. Nine years later, his father is murdered by the Tartars. After a difficult fight, Temujin regains his position as tribal chief, but the Merkit tribe kidnaps his wife. To secure help against the Merkits, Temujin uses his mother as leverage for troops from other tribes. He rescues his wife only to discover she is pregnant with a Merkit child. Overwhelmed by pain, Temujin battles the Tartars and kills their leader. He returns with his wife and accepts her child. Eventually, he begins uniting the Mongolian tribes. By the age of forty, he is named "Genghis Khan," meaning "oceanic ruler."
