Description:
Monique, a well-known singer, assumes the identity of Digna to flee her stepfather and stepbrother Gilbert, who murdered her mother and plotted to kill her for her inheritance. Gilbert and his father believe Monique is dead until they encounter her working as a waitress. Enraged, Gilbert hunts Monique down. While escaping his men, she meets Carding, a thief in Ermita, and his companion Libag. A romance blossoms as she stays with Carding's community in a slum, caring for his children. Gilbert and his father are eventually apprehended by the police, allowing Monique to reclaim her home and wealth. Ultimately, Monique welcomes Carding's children into her home, solidifying their love.
