Description:
In a small New England town, three professional women have vanished in 18 months. Sheriff Nickie Welles, facing imminent job loss due to budget cuts, is determined to solve these crimes. Desperate, she seeks help from James Hart, a local psychic, before her time as sheriff ends. But Detective Sandra Franks, Nickie's lover, doubts James' abilities and fears Nickie is pursuing a hopeless lead. James himself is struggling with a sleep disorder and finds himself in a hospital, where he encounters a nurse who becomes the next victim. He suspects a frame-up, possibly by Sandra. Their investigation reveals a dark secret that threatens to destroy Nickie, James, and Sandra.
