Men Without Beard (1971)

Fifteen-year-old Otto escapes into elaborate daydreams where he's a fearless hero, effortlessly handling perilous situations. However, the imaginative ninth grader struggles with the realities of school. Recognizing Otto's intelligence but difficulty applying it to everyday tasks, his teacher Nickel works with school director Menschke to help him adjust. It’s a challenging process, but Otto slowly understands he needs to reserve his fantasies for after school. His teacher pledges to support him in making that change.
