Description:
Concerto tells the story of a Filipino family in wartime Mindanao. During the final stages of World War II, they encounter a group of Japanese officers camped nearby. Their son, who speaks Japanese, acts as a link between the two groups. The family's daughters, both musically talented, experience a complex mix of feelings towards the Japanese officers. As they navigate the precarious space between enemy and occupiers, the family’s values are tested. Inspired by the director's own family history, Concerto is a celebration of a family's resilience, finding beauty and compassion amidst the hardships of war through their shared love of music and friendship.
