Shomõtsi (2001)

Shomõtsi, a sharp and likable Ashaninka father who has raised his children by himself, talks with the filmmaker about how his people use anatto dye, cassava, and coca. He explains that unlike outsiders, the Ashaninka understand coca's medicinal value. Shomõtsi and two other elders travel to a nearby city to collect their pensions, camping overnight while they wait. They complain about the materialistic attitude of the Brazilian shopkeepers before making a few small purchases. Afterward, Shomõtsi happily returns to the village.
