How Many Miles to Babylon? (1982)

In 1914, childhood friends Alexander Moore, from a wealthy family, and Jerry Crowe, from a working-class background, serve together in the Army – Alex as an officer and Jerry as a private. Despite their different backgrounds, they remain close. However, their friendship is tested when Jerry is court-martialed for desertion, and Alex is assigned to lead the firing squad that will carry out his sentence.
