Old Man Bebo (2008)

Carlos Carcas's documentary follows the remarkable career of Bebo Valdés, a celebrated Cuban musician who achieved international recognition late in life, winning two Grammys at 81. The film uses performance footage, archival photos and video of Valdés's life in Cuba, alongside interviews with those who knew him – family, friends, and fellow musicians. A leading figure in Havana's music scene during the 1940s and '50s, Valdés emigrated from Cuba following the revolution.
