Escape to Paradise (2001)

Sehmuz, his wife Delal, and their three children flee Turkey and find temporary refuge in a Swiss asylum center with refugees from Africa and Eastern Europe who maintain a sense of humor despite their hardships. However, their stories don't seem convincing to the authorities, according to Sehmuz’s Kurdish friend Aziz. Aziz arranges for a Swiss contact to create a believable backstory with supporting documents. Sehmuz convinces Delal to sell their family jewels to afford a new biography, which he painstakingly memorizes with his children’s help. But during the crucial interview, he can't recall the weather in Izmir.
