Description:
Master Maeng is delighted because his daughter, Mi-yeon, is marrying into a prominent family. However, days before the wedding, he learns a rumor that his future son-in-law has a limp. Disappointed at the thought of his daughter marrying someone with a disability, Maeng resolves to marry his maid to the young man instead. To his surprise, the groom arrives at the wedding, healthy and handsome. Embarrassed, Maeng is forced to marry the maid to him. *The Wedding Day* is a recreation of a comedic play by Oh Yeong Jin and was the first Korean film to win an international award, taking home the Best Comedy Award at the 1957 Asian Film Festival.
