Description:
Summer 1930. Two brothers, Erik and Johan, inherit their family property: two houses on the Ätran River in Falkenberg. Erik, who manages a trading business, lives in the larger house with his wife, Mrs. Aurore, Aurore's niece Maj-Britt, and the maid Malin. Malin is the object of affection for both police officer Karlsson and postman Dag-Otto. Johan, a bricklayer, resides in the smaller cottage with his wife Hanna and their son Albin, who is studying engineering. The brothers' contrasting personalities often cause conflict. This is further complicated when Albin and Maj-Britt develop feelings for each other, much to the dismay of everyone around them.
