Manu Neethi (2000)

Muthazhagu is a respected village elder, honored for his past patriotic resistance against the British. When he unexpectedly commits a foolish act, the villagers are stunned. They forgive him, understanding it was due to alcohol. However, Vellaiyan, a local man who had hoped to marry a village girl, is deeply resentful. He plots revenge for twenty years. The girl's nephew, Murali, unaware of his uncle’s plans, later discovers the truth. Torn between admiration for Muthazhagu, love for the girl, and loyalty to his uncle, Murali tries to prevent a conflict that threatens to erupt between the two villages.
