Description:
Echo of the Mountain explores the life and art of Santos de la Torre, a renowned Huichol artist largely unknown despite his accomplishments. Having created a significant mural for the Palais Royal – Musée du Louvre metro station, Santos lives in isolation within his own country. The documentary follows his journey to Wirikuta, where he seeks divine approval for a new mural. It chronicles his pilgrimage along the 385-mile Peyote Route and details Santos's creative process as he works to depict the history, mythology, and religious traditions of the Huichol people in his artwork.
