Description:
In the heart of winter in Ystad, police officer Kurt Wallander investigates a complex drug case. The investigation begins with the apparent suicide of his goddaughter, Eva, after taking an overdose of heroin. As Wallander delves deeper, he uncovers a network of dealers behind the unusually potent drug. His superior orders him to focus on a different suspect, but Wallander defies the instructions and independently pursues his own leads in Malmö. He eventually identifies a suspect, Heinrich Pasila, and shows a photograph to Eva's friend Emma, who is connected to the drug trade. Emma directs Wallander to a contact who claims to have seen Pasila. Wallander then connects Pasila to a previous murder – the one involving his goddaughter’s mother.
