Description:
When his father is diagnosed with leukemia and his mother has long struggled financially, Lin's life unravels. His sister secretly works as a waitress and descends into prostitution. Shunned at school because of his father’s illness, Lin becomes disillusioned with education. While exploring the riverbank, he discovers a derelict ship and encounters an enigmatic father and daughter. He befriends the girl and aids them in stealing scrap metal. The teacher, concerned by Lin's absences, visits his mother and offers her sympathy. Lin later witnesses his teacher and mother together at their home. Overwhelmed, he imagines harming his father. Returning to the riverbank, he finds the ship has vanished.
