Description:

Heinz Emigholz, known for his films about unusual architecture (like *Sullivan’s Bridges* and *Goff in the Desert*), carefully documents 15 rooms of Villa Cargnacco in Lombardy, Italy. The villa was designed by Gabriele D’Annunzio, a controversial poet who spent 17 years creating the Vittoriale, a museum on Lake Garda, and furnishing the Villa Cargnacco as part of the same complex. This documentary film comes from a photography session in the villa where four friends – cinematographers Irene von Alberti, Elfi Mikesch, Klaus Wyborny, and Heinz Emigholz – filmed the rooms and furnishings simultaneously, each using their own distinct approaches.
