Description:
In October 2003, Alma and Lila Levy are barred from attending the Lycée Henri Wallon in Aubervilliers for wearing headscarves. This sparks a major political and media debate, with many supporting the exclusion of girls who wear headscarves in schools. By February 2004, the National Assembly passes a law related to the controversy, which is viewed by some as "a thinly veiled racism," echoing a similar incident in Creil in 1989. The film examines this debate, exploring whether the law is really about excluding these girls. It features voices from students, teachers, activists, feminists, and researchers associated with the group "A School for You-All," who are fighting to repeal the law, which they consider sexist and racist. The film was censored in France in September 2004.
