Description:
In 1849 San Francisco, saloon girl Toy, known as Mary, works above Mother Bright's bar. She falls for Como Murphy, a man on the run from the law, after he takes refuge in her room. He tells her he’s being framed for a murder that occurred during a riot following his speech about human rights. Como, who loves Mary, spends a night with her but leaves to protect her. He joins a ship bound for China, befriended by Turk, a sailor who also loves Mary. Neither man knows the other's feelings for her.
