Just the Right Amount of Violence (2013)

Jon Bang Carlsen's new film explores the seemingly perfect lives of families in affluent Los Angeles suburbs, where hidden tensions simmer beneath the surface. As children rebel, their parents struggle to cope. With their parents' permission, the kids are taken and driven to a reform school in the Utah desert. The film blends real events with fictional storytelling to examine how parents sometimes regain control by relinquishing it, and how stories can illuminate reality.
