Description:
Nine-year-old Soufyane, raised by his Dutch mother and sister in a city apartment, lives with his absent Moroccan father. He’s excited when his father invites him on a trip to Morocco, the country of his heritage, viewing it as a significant step into adulthood. Soufyane meticulously prepares for the journey, facing pressure from his friends to buy Ray-Ban sunglasses, which he declines in favor of Marc Jacobs. When questioned about his future aspirations, he remains silent. He eventually finds the desired glasses from a black market dealer for a fraction of the price.
