Description:
In the quiet village of Metzburgh, a former industrial town struggling to recover from the closure of the Metzburgh Grain mill, teenager Mark Lowe and his ex-girlfriend Lucy Greenheart are caught in a lovers' dispute. Their peace is shattered when a meteorite crashes nearby. Glen, a homeless former employee of the grain silos, discovers the fiery impact site. Unaware of the danger, he approaches the meteorite and is engulfed in a chemical spray. The substance, called Ombis, begins to transform his body from the inside out. Unable to contain the infection, Glen runs onto the road where Mark and Lucy find him. They take him to the town's only doctor, Doctor D, and are horrified by what they discover. They immediately contact Sheriff Thomas Brackett.
