Description:
In spring 1938, a fiery UFO, later known as the "Chilean Sphere," crashed in the northern Chilean mountains. A film crew investigating the incident uncovers a startling secret: the Soviet Union had secretly developed a space program in the 1930s, launching its first spacecraft 23 years before Yuri Gagarin. "The First on the Moon" chronicles the daily lives, heroic achievements, and tragedies of this pioneering group of Soviet cosmonauts. It is Russia's first film in the unusual genre of 'mockumentary,' blending documentary and fiction.
