Description:

In the summer of 1941, when the Continuation War began, German soldiers arrived in Oulu. They quickly captivated the town's women and young men with their charm. Finnish boys formed various connections with the Germans: conducting business, working as interpreters, trading goods, observing their romantic pursuits, and even competing for their attention. By autumn 1944, as the war neared its end, the Germans departed Oulu, leaving behind a trail of fragile relationships, illegitimate children, and unresolved affairs. The most surprising of these was the fate of a young man named Jake.
