Description:
High in the Northern Thailand mountains, a boarding school fosters a community of students from various local tribes. They live and learn together with their Thai teacher, cultivating their own food while pursuing their education. The children, who have known only the mountains, are driven by a single question: where do the rivers that flow down the hills ultimately lead? Passing their final exams earns them a journey to the river's mouth, to the ocean. Many of the children are impoverished, some orphaned, and primarily speak only their tribal languages. Yet, they all strive to succeed in the exams for this long-awaited trip, a journey symbolizing their transition from childhood to adulthood as they travel from their villages to the sea.
