Description:
Eleven-year-old Nick relocates to a sprawling, old house with his sisters, where they are looked after by their Swedish au pair, Helga, while their parents are in America. At his new school, Nick struggles to fit in but finds a friend in Sam, while simultaneously feeling threatened by his scripture teacher, Mr. Crabb, who has an interest in the occult. Strange things begin happening at the house: Nick hears voices, receives cryptic messages on his computer, and develops unexplained blisters and injuries. After dreaming of fire and waking up covered in ashes, Nick tells a psychiatrist that he believes he is possessed by a demon.
