Description:
Blandine arrives at Charles de Gaulle Airport hoping to meet her husband, Papi, in Paris. After requesting asylum, she is detained in a small cell with other African people, where they are treated poorly and told they will be deported soon. Papi searches for Blandine at Arrivals but receives unhelpful information. During a confrontation on the runway, Blandine is injured while authorities attempt to remove her from the country, but a kind Ministry of Foreign Affairs employee intervenes and prevents her deportation. She is eventually reunited with Papi in a shared living space, where she hears other people's difficult experiences in France. With limited work, money, and food, and feeling discouraged by her reception, Blandine struggles to find the will to leave her uncomfortable living situation.
