We Don’t Play Golf Here (2007)

The people of Tepoztlan, Mexico, a village where the indigenous Nahual language is still spoken, are struggling with the arrival of foreign investment. Factories, shopping malls, and a massive golf resort – complete with 1500 vacation homes and a country club – are changing their community. The newly elected mayor expressed strong opposition, stating that golf is not a local pastime. He explained that the water needed to maintain such a large golf course would harm their farming and that the pesticides and fertilizers used would pollute the town's water supply.
