Description:
This film is a comedic parody of "Planet of the Apes" (1968), closely following the original's plot while embracing absurdity. A group of men lands in a balloon on a hillside where talking apes rule and humans are enslaved. The apes attempt to turn the men into monkeys, a simian princess falls for one of them, and the story unfolds accordingly. This is one of many films made for the popular Brazilian comedy group "Os Trapalhões" (featuring Didi, Dedé, Mussum, and Zacarias, though Zacarias hadn't joined yet), often inspired by American movies. It's lighthearted fun, though the humor is distinctly Brazilian. The ape costumes are intentionally bad, adding to the film's playful tone. The movie doesn't aim for serious storytelling.
