Description:
Set in the vibrant 1970s, the film follows a group seeking spiritual enlightenment, sexual liberation, and a higher state of being. In England, young Hugh Milne is captivated by the voice of spiritual leader Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh on a recording and journeys to India in search of meaning. Sheela Patel, a 21-year-old Indian woman, is brought to the charismatic guru by her father and immediately feels drawn to him. At Bhagwan's ashram in Poona, disciples are encouraged to meditate and practice tantric sex as paths to spiritual awakening. Hugh becomes Bhagwan’s bodyguard, witnessing his growing influence. Sheela becomes his secretary and rises to become a powerful figure overseeing his community in the Oregon mountains.
