Description:
Since the end of colonialism, Mahaleos music and voices have been a constant presence in Madagascar. Despite three decades of achievement, the seven musicians remain largely outside the entertainment industry, dedicated to their country's progress. They work as doctors, farmers, academics, and politicians. The film follows these singers through their everyday lives, revealing the significant social and economic challenges facing the Malagasy people, accompanied by their rhythmic melodies. Brazilian composer Cesar Paes and Malagasy musician Raymond Rajaonarivelo have created a work that is both beautiful and grounded, artistic and deeply relevant.
