Description:
Between the Tides is a 1958 short documentary by Ralph Keene for British Transport Films. It explores the animal and plant life found along Britain's coast. The film showcases the vibrant marine life of a rocky shore in southwest England, focusing on the area between high and low tide. The incredible variety of creatures – including periwinkles, top-shells, starfish, and various fish – is visually stunning. Beautifully filmed in Technicolor by Ron Craigen, the film received fifteen international film awards and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film.
