The "Mario & Zelda Big Band Live" concert took place on September 14th, 2003, at the Nihon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo, Japan. A DVD recording of the event was included with the Japanese gaming magazine "Nintendo Dream" vol. 101. The concert featured live performances of music from the Mario and Zelda games, arranged in styles ranging from jazz to country and bluegrass. Host Ashura Benimaru Itoh opened with a guitar arrangement of the Super Mario Bros. "main theme" and "underworld theme." The concert program was split between performances by the Tokyo CubaBoys Jr. (The Big Band of Rogues) and Mr. Yoshihiro Arita with his band.
