High in the mountains, the Chinese village of Songpan thrived for generations thanks to trade with Tibet, relying on horseback travel. While horses remain important, the village has transformed since China became more open to the world. Tourism, encouraged by the government, is now a major industry. Residents discuss their lives with the camera, focusing on financial struggles. Tourism brings money, but wealth is concentrated, and poverty persists. Aside from a South Korean woman sharing her experience adapting to local customs, most villagers are concerned with earning a living – discussing prices, tips, and the difficulty of saving.
