Zé Ramalho Canta Raul Seixas (2002)

Zé Ramalho Canta Raul Seixas is an album by Brazilian singer Zé Ramalho released in 2001. The album inspired a DVD recorded in early 2002 at Canecão, Rio de Janeiro. Produced by Robby Reef, the disc features mostly re-recordings of songs by Bahia singer Raul Seixas, including "SOS," "Paper Planes," "Metamorphosis," and "Golden Fool," as well as versions of "You Can Still Dreaming" (a take on The Beatles' "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds") and "How Could I Know." The album also includes an unreleased song, "There For Raul," a tribute to Raul Seixas, and a version of "How Could I Know" titled "How would I know." Zé Ramalho had wanted to create such a tribute while Raul Seixas was alive. A decade after Seixas' death, he recorded the album but faced opposition from Paulo Coelho, with whom Raul had collaborated. Coelho refused permission for Zé Ramalho to record versions of songs they had done together.
