ONE BAD CAT explores how art changes the life of Reverend Albert Wagner, an 82-year-old African-American artist known for his unconventional work. Throughout his life, he has sparked controversy, facing challenges from racism, ambition, and desire that nearly destroyed him. Finding religion at 50, he began painting, inspired by his faith to become a celebrated artist for a predominantly white audience. Despite growing up in the segregated South, his later paintings often criticized aspects of Black life, earning him both admirers and critics. As the film ends, Albert confronts his complicated history. Did his artistic journey lead to genuine repentance and redemption?
