Description:

After losing his wife and his job as a tailor, Alex Ponttin finds a way to stay connected to people by posing as a relative or official to gain a night's lodging. His first stay is with the Dumonts, where he's followed by a thief. He then spends an evening with Marie, a mother of seven. Seeking another night, he goes to the home of Caroline and Gloria, a shy lesbian couple. To protect her inheritance from her disapproving sister Catherine, Caroline tells her aunt Amélie that Gloria is her secretary and Alex is her lover. Alex is then required to appear nude in Caroline's bed. He successfully saves the inheritance. The investigating police officers are remarkably inept, leaving Alex virtually unarrestable.
