Description:
It's Thanksgiving, and Popeye has been raising a turkey in his yard, ready to be the centerpiece of the family meal. But Popeye struggles to bring himself to slaughter the bird, so he shares a story with his nephews about a time he was a pilgrim and a turkey saved him. He recounts hunting the turkey, who cleverly evades him, until he finally corners it. The turkey pleads for its life, claiming it's too scrawny to be eaten. Popeye offers the turkey spinach, but before it can eat it, Popeye is captured by Native Americans and tied to a stake. Watching from above, the turkey remembers the spinach, transforming into an eagle. The eagle attacks the Native Americans, carrying off a group and dropping them into a mountain, then turning another group into a totem pole. As Popeye finishes his story, he notices his nephews are gone. It's time for dinner, and they prepare to serve the turkey with a large helping of spinach.
