On March 27, 2007, Toyin Agbetu, a Pan-Africanist, interrupted a religious service at Westminster Abbey where the British Government, Monarchy, and Church were commemorating the Bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act. Agbetu condemned the service as offensive and a disgrace, speaking powerfully on behalf of millions globally. Following the revelation of truths about the transatlantic slave trade, he was unfairly portrayed as a ‘lone madman’ by British media. This film presents restored, uncensored footage of the event and the subsequent support from the African community in Britain, documenting his arrest, imprisonment, and the eventual dropping of all charges against him.
