Description:
To mark the second anniversary of the Day Off campaign, the UNIFEM Film Series presents *No Day Off* (2006) by Eric Khoo, a 45-minute short film following the life of Siti, a domestic worker in Singapore, over four years. Every year, thousands of women like Siti leave their homes and families in impoverished villages in Java and Sumatra to work as foreign domestic workers in Singapore. They perform household tasks – cleaning, cooking, and caring for children, the sick, and the elderly – and send their wages home to improve the lives of their families.
