Description:
Jean’s father is often working, so he’s mostly cared for by his nanny Yvette and neighbour Michelle. His mother is absent, a topic no one discusses. Fortunately, Michelle reads postcards from his mother detailing her adventurous life, which, despite seeming unbelievable, bring Jean joy. At school, the marbles Jean takes from his father's factory are prized among his classmates, but their theft has unforeseen results. This charming, poignant animated film, adapted from the popular children’s book by Jean Regnaud and Emile Bravo, is a heartwarming and insightful story about childhood grief and the ways adults sometimes avoid difficult truths.
