Description:
Gene Autry explains the story behind his song: He's on the verge of leaving his job as a county attorney investigator to start a cattle business with Chuckawalla Jones, but changes his mind to help Anne Lawson prove her father, rancher Ralph Lawson, didn't commit murder. Gene searches for three witnesses who can testify that Lawson acted in self-defense when he killed a gambler. However, the witnesses are intimidated by Rock McCleary, a powerful town figure, who shoots one of them, Pop Roberts Morgan. Before dying from his wounds, Pop gives Gene the crucial information needed to clear Lawson, whispering that the "Ghost Riders" are coming for him. Gene then prepares for a confrontation with McCleary.
