Description:
"America" follows Dr. Maureen Brennan, a psychiatrist at a youth center, as she works with her newest patient, a biracial boy named America. During therapy, Dr. Brennan helps America process a turbulent life, starting with his removal from his mother as a baby due to drug addiction and subsequent placement in foster care. A brief period of stability occurred with Mrs. Harper, a nanny for one of his foster families, before his mother abandoned him again. Now struggling in school and burdened by anger, America isolates himself after years of abuse. Following a suicide attempt, he arrives at Dr. Brennan's treatment center, where she guides him to confront his painful past and find the strength to rebuild his life.
