Description:
Mathieu Roy's L’Autre maison is a moving family drama following three generations of acclaimed Quebec actors. Marcel Sabourin is Henri Bernard, an 86-year-old whose mind is fading. His sons, a busy middle-aged photojournalist (Roy Dupuis) and a younger pilot-in-training (Emile Proulx-Cloutier), have different ideas about how to care for him. Eventually, the father and younger son move to a secluded cottage in the woods. As Henri's health declines, their choices become increasingly difficult. When a tragedy in Afghanistan deeply affects the family, they are forced to unite. Filmed in Quebec, Iceland, Africa, and Asia, Another House beautifully combines memories, perceptions, and poetic storytelling, expanding the story beyond personal matters into a visual exploration of humanity and nature.
