Description:
In 1929, the people of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, gift their flag to the miners of Bergstedt, Germany, as a sign of friendship. This gesture quickly becomes symbolic for the Bergstedt miners when the Nazi party demands the Soviet flag be removed and replaced with their own. Miner and communist Otto Brosowski vows to protect the flag from any threat, and he remains true to his word even as his family faces persecution.
