Description:

Vengeance (2001) was the inaugural annual Vengeance pay-per-view event, hosted by Lugz and held on December 9, 2001, at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California. The main event featured a three-match tournament to combine the WWF Championship and the former WCW Championship into the Undisputed Championship. Stone Cold Steve Austin faced Kurt Angle for the WWF Championship in the first match. Chris Jericho competed against The Rock for the World Championship. The winners of those matches then battled for the Undisputed Championship. The undercard included Rob Van Dam defending the Hardcore Championship against The Undertaker, Edge defending the Intercontinental Championship against William Regal, a Tag Team Championship match between The Dudley Boyz and Big Show/Kane, and Trish Stratus versus Jacqueline for the Women's Championship.
