Description:
After 12 years in a mental institution, Elise is released. She suffered a profound trauma witnessing her mother's drowning, an event that irrevocably changed her. Her psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Lang, believes she is stable enough to return to her childhood home, accompanied by his girlfriend Diana. However, Elise’s stepbrother Leland appears, making it clear he has malicious intentions and taunts her about her mother’s death. It becomes apparent that Leland desires the family estate for himself and wants Elise confined again. As Elise experiences disturbing voices and flashbacks of the night her mother died, a series of murders begins. The killer is unexpectedly revealed, and the film concludes with a powerful effect. The atmosphere blends elements of classic horror films like *Don’t Look in the Basement* (1973) and *Funeral Home* (1980).
