Description:
Aniyan Thampuran (Mohanlal), a gentle prince from a former royal family, lives a simple life in a Kerala village with his family. His household is burdened by debts incurred through the extravagant spending of his elder brother, Chettan Thampuran (Sukumaran). Following Chettan's sudden death, Aniyan is forced to shoulder the family's financial woes. He loses his home and all possessions trying to cover his brother’s debts, falling into utter poverty. He discovers his wife (Parvathy) had an affair with his friend Balan and married him solely out of desperation due to her family's poverty. This devastating truth pushes Aniyan to despair, ultimately leading to his suicide in a tragic climax.
